Google Hangouts Dialer - how to get it listed as a Dial app?

Does anyone know how to get the Google Hangouts Dialer registered as a Phone/Dial application in MIUI (v5)? Right now, I've got the default 'Contacts and dialer', as well as Skype listed. I don't know how apps get listed here.

looks like this is a limitation of the hangouts app itself. the hangouts dialer 'app' is really just a shortcut to the dialer tab in the hangouts app. I hope google updates hangouts to allow direct-dial-from-contacts functionality, copy/pasting is quite a burden!
