Google Wallet alternative? Yes - there is one

Since Google's ongoing changes to the Wallet app have made it virtually unusable for rooted devices, a new and excellent Wallet alternative has emerged. It's called "Curve Pay," and you can find it in the Google Play Store. Using it and registering is free. You can add multiple credit and debit cards; adding Payback and PayPal is also no problem. Numerous loyalty cards are also supported. But most importantly: contactless payments are possible with each of these added payment methods. The Curve Pay app also offers numerous interesting features that Google Wallet doesn't have. So, if you're annoyed by the constant changes to Google Wallet, you can give the Curve Pay app a try. I use it myself and have been extremely satisfied so far, so I can highly recommend it !

Can you explain more?

i've installed it but can't pay for app or anything on Play Store with it...

This app is intended solely as a Google Wallet alternative for contactless payments in supermarkets and department stores, at gas stations, restaurants, or other businesses, not for online payments. Please read the detailed description in the Google Play Store when searching for the Curve Pay app.

Yes that's true but in hyperos you cannot change default payment method , which means you are not able to pay with curve app.

You sure? I can change it (PayPal app in this example, but when I had curve installed I could select it, too). Are you perhaps talking about something different?
Running on hyperOS 2 Xiaomi.eu rom

Correct, I also have HyperOS 2.0 and can select Curve Pay as my default payment method. It has to be available under Settings -> NFC on every phone.

I can't add any cards in the Curve app. It only says "Something went wrong. Try again!" over and over. On my Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra using MIUI 14 (I am lazy..).

Yes. When im in curve app , there is buttons to "set as default payment" when I press that button after the loading screen goes black and takes me back to the same page with the button. I thought its hyperos problem. I see there is problem on my side. Thanks for the info i will look into it.

Sorry guys, did it work for you? I installed it on a Xiaomi 13 Ultra and when I went to pay, it didn't work. Previously, I had set Curve Pay as the default NFC payment method. I use HyperOS 2.0, the latest ROM, if it's useful.

Installed Curve few days ago, everything went smooth and working. I only have to change default app for paying and enable Curve autostart in the background.

Did you find sth out ? Are you rooted ? I'm not able to set Curve as my Default payment app anymore as it is finding a "technical issue". Any hints ?

I connected my card from Greece and my Curve account was banned from the first payment, I contacted their customer service and they say that they will reply in 3 days, also they asked from my government ID documents. Waiting 3 days while having such sensitive information is a red flag , also they don't let me delete my card unless I connect a 2nd card. Is this a joke ? A seller from Curve is advertising us a trash app here ?

Same story here on my side, exactly the same. Still no solution in their Mails and all they do is trashtalking.

Maybe they have now many signups and are suspecting fraudulent attempts on theirs system now, maybe with this Google Wallet thing many users are switching to Curve.
