Google has strengthened Play Integrity protection and old workaround is no longer effective. New Play Integrity requires a locked bootloader. You can just accept it and use another payment method, try using complex root hacks (example) at your own responsibility, or return to an official ROM...

That's your opinion. Custom ROMs existed long before SafetyNet/Play Integrity/NFC payments became a thing, and no one complained.
I have same phone, same problem..It was working 3 days ago on current stable and integrity fix
Did a clean install and then stopped working
Very weird, cannot explain.
