HELP Cannot access storage when connecting to PC

Hello! I just got my phone last monday and I was trying to copy files to the phone memory (since I don't have an external memory card yet) and I can't seem to access PC connection.

I plug it using a USB cord and the only thing it does is charge my phone.

Please help me on what to do.

you should be able too see something like this here from the dropdown menu and than just choose file transfer
