Invalid Hey Google doesn't work unless Google app is open

Hi! So far loving this ROM, but can't seem to get "hey google" to trigger google assistant unless the google app is open. It worked fine when I was on global so any idea how to fix? Thank you

Hi, sorry this post was kinda rushed

POCO F3 running Miui V14.0.7.0. stable

Google assistant now usually responds to hey google, but then says "can't reach google at the moment"
