Hide notch on Android 9

Hello everyone,

My question is in the title : since I flashed Android 9's MIUI version, I can't find the hide notch feature anymore (I mean lock in black color).

How can I do that now ?

You may try to run this adb command but you will lost round corner effect. Dont know how to bring it back yet
adb shell settings put global force_black 1

You bought device with a notch.. Xiaomi wants you to fully enjoy it! So removed hide notch option in Pie..

I bought this device knowing that I could hide the notch

And I hate the notch, but except the LG V30 which has a very bad screen problem, the Mi 8 was the only smartphone that meets all my requirements at an affordable price.

Well, I guess that Xiaomi can bring back the feature, but I don't think that they'd do that.

However, I was thinking that Xiaomi.eu team could restore it ? x)

Not sure if it's an option, but you could switch to MIUI 10 (Android 8.1). The option to turn on/off the notch is there.

google does not want the hide notch option in android 9

Google seems not to be against hiding the notch...

The "Hide Notch" setting is still avaiable in settings search. Very weird - I want it back
