How to get rid of Wallpaper Carousel in newest MIUI?

In newest MIUI Version v12 a new version of Wallpaper Carousel seems to be introduced.

This App can neither be disabled nor uninstalled any more as in the past.

Did I miss something?

How can I get rid (or at least disable forever) this App?

If you have xiaomi.eu ROM the option to disable or deactivate it is available.
