Hi everyone,

I recently upgraded my Xiaomi 12T Pro to HyperOS 2.0 from a weekly HyperOS 1.0 build. Before the upgrade, I backed up my data to Google One, as the update required a full data wipe. However, during the initial setup, I couldn’t add my Google account because it required a passkey for 2FA. Since the phone was freshly reset and had no passkeys, I was forced to skip the account setup, which bypassed the Google One backup restoration process.

As you know, the setup wizard only runs during the first boot, and there’s no official way to revisit the restore option afterward. The only official solution is to factory reset again, but this would likely lock me out again due to the same 2FA issue.

Here’s how I “unofficially” re-ran the restoration process after completing the setup:

1- Add your account (Post-setup, it allows SMS-based 2FA, bypassing the passkey issue.)
2- Install Activity Launcher from Google Play or App Manager from F-Droid (the former did not install on my Diting).
3- Find this app: com.google.android.setupwizard
4- Tap on that app and go to activities tab.
5- Now find this activity and tap "Launch": null.deferred.DeferredTrampolineActivity

This will take you to the steps where you can restore a backup from Google.
