How to root the Mi 10 Lite Zoom (VANGOGH) with custom ROM or any.

I have a Mi 10 Lite Zoom (VANGOGH) running MIUI 13.0.7 SJVCNXM, and I’m planning to install an Android 14+ ROM on it. However, I’m a bit confused about the process of rooting the device whether I should root it before or after installing the new ROM in order to retain root privileges.

I’m new to this, and most of the guides I’ve found seem to be for older versions like MIUI 12, which has left me uncertain about the correct procedure for my current setup.

Could anyone provide a step-by-step guide or advice on how to root my device and install Android 14+ while keeping root access?
