I was having a lot of trouble understanding why where's my droid and cerberus wouldn't work with MIUI. Eventually, I got Cerberus to work by installing it as a system application through ROM Manager and disabling pop ups for text messaging.
If you have pop ups enabled in messaging you WILL NOT be able to send SMS commands for any anti theft app. You must disable that.
Installing as a system application is an optional step, but is recommended for these types of apps so they will survive a factory reset.
