Is It Necessary Root To Install A Xiaomi.eu Rom?

Hello to everybody. I'm new here and this is my first post.
I have a Mi5S Plus, and I want to flash the xiaomi.eu ROM.
I have already unlocked the bootloader, and nowI will follow the instructions in 6.11.10 post by ingbrzy, but I have a question:
Is it necessary SuperSU 2.76, or convenient? In case yes, how do I install it?

I have succesfully installed 6.11.10 ROM.

I use root only because I have Xposed modules & Root permissions for certain apps.

It honestly depends on what you do and how you want to do things

Or did you flash the rom?
