Why the physical buttons of my Mi5 basic does not work on AOSP roms?

Do you have tempered glass? I've read that it causes problems with custom roms.

Also Xiaomi have not released new drivers for all display types and many people are having issues with hardware buttons on other custom roms than MIUI.eu. So probably there is no other solution than switch to eu rom or wait that Xiaomi releases new drivers for your display..

I think he means the fp quick fix patch that can be found on XDAs LineageOS thread.

That has helped some people but not all. It is still about unreleased drivers.

New LineageOS official build will be up in few days so you can hope that problem is fixed there.
