I haven't had this happen, so I can't help. It's been very smooth for me but was running MIUI 12 from Xiaomi.eu as well. The initial transition from the Chinese ROM to .EU was little but of a battle but smooth after that.

We're you running Xiaomi.EU before? As, I recommend a wipe with the first swap over from any other ROM.
