New Mi 11 - Not turning off screen during WhatsApp audio/Google duo audio call

The phone does not turn off the screen during a WhatsApp audio or Google duo audio call when the phone is held in the hand. This feature works normally in other stock miui 12 implementations.

The ROM installed is the latest eu stable rom [xiaomi.eu_multi_MI11_V12.0.22.0.RKBCNXM_v12-11-fastboot].

Update:
If after starting a duo call, the user for example opens another app such as a browser and then turns off the screen during the call, the screen remains off. If the user presses the power button while *within* the duo app during a call, then this behaviour persists.
this issue is experienced sometimes even while placing the phone next to the face on a Google duo call. The phone display instantly lights up, even if the power button is pressed during the call. This is a battery drain and can become uncomfortable with the screen lit up during the call.

Further update: this issue seems to be fixed in 12.5. Will provide an update if it persist or shows up again.
