Mi 4 Update To The Latest Miui

My mi4 is running on miui version 5.12.11 and android version 4.4.4 so he isn't up to date. Now when i want to download the latest version from here there is near the name 6.0 so do i first need do update my phone to android 6.0 ? if i need to do that, pls help me because i don't know how to update it to 6.0

Flash 5.12.17 twice that will make new partitions, then install android 6.
