Generally, when i use a 3g connection and there is a heavy usage of 3g by the apps, that might cause overheat.

If it is just chatting ( no heavy content ) you can switch to 2g i suppose.

Maybe you have got a fake phone with many apps installed.If you switch off 3g network you will not use wechat through 2g network.
