Mi5s Video Problem

Hi,
I have a problem while playing video from Gallery.
I received the Error "video format unsupported".
The video is in mp4 format and the problem append Only with System video app.
With this app I can play Only video maker with the smartphone.

I have ROM 6.11.3 dev by xiaomi.eu.

Can someone help me?

AFAIK mp4 (like avi, mkv etc.) is a container for one or more audio or video streams.
Every audio or video stream need a codec depending on its type.
Maybe your mp4 file contains a stream which is not playable by the app because it miss the required codec.
Some players use codecs from system, other like - I think - VLC use their own codecs.
Try downloading mediainfo from
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/files/binary/
and run it on a pc against your file to know what it contains, then you can convert the file to different formats using ffmpeg.

Il I runtastic the video from the app (locale video), the video is played successfully.
If I run the video from the Gallery or from WhatsApp I can't play it :-(

The App MX Player Pro runs all the applications

My problem not is to play the video... I have many apps that can play all format of video.
I want to know if this problem is a bug of this version of miui or is only my problem.

With my MI3 with ROM from miui.it I can play the same videos with System app without problem.

Maybe they removed support mp4 from Gallery app, like it seems they did for m4a with Audio app?
