Got a mi8 but need access to developer options as some of my apps need access to USB debugging but I need to know the pin to access the developer options? What is the pin,?

Because you are not supposed to enter dev mode in updater. It's not what you are looking for. Settings > My device > All specs > 5 taps on MIUI version.
