Whenever I make a phone call they can't hear me, same goes with most of the apps. even if I use a headset.

A similar issue here! The hands-free function does not work when making a phone call (using the telephone app "Xiaomi Contacts and dialer")! The other person cannot hear me when I am talking. Any suggestions other than installing another phone app? P.S.: I am on the latest firmware v12.5.6.0!
Found a temporary solution for the "Phone" app,
- Go to settings - Apps - Manage apps - Find the Phone app or search it, then Clear all Data (Don't worry it will not remove your call history or contacts)
then restart the phone. try to call someone if it works for you.
for the messenger app, this is the only thing I did so they can hear me.
if you are the one calling, don't use video call right away, just use call and don't press loudspeaker if they didn't answer the call, they won't be able to hear you.
after they answer the call you can now use the videocall, the camera will popup twice I don't know why.
I hope this works for you.

Guys, if it is not hardware issue, then it is obvious a software issue.
Do a clean install.

I just did a clean install and it is still the same issues., also tried to format, still the same.
In that case you have 2 more things to do.
1-Try stock MIUI 10 fastboot rom. If microphone is OK then try update to 11 and12 and 12.5
2-If it dowes not work again then a hardware issue of some kind :-(
It works now. Tried using Stable ROM 12.5.6, the only problem I got is. Xiaomi Sim Activation Services. it couldn't activate

I tried Clean flash but, after some time while using Stable rom the problem still persists and it has too many problems I don't know why.
so I tried to clean flash weekly rom again. still the same problem, but then I tried to disable "Ok, Google!" both "Phone" and "Messenger" Works like a charm.
No problem with the Loudspeaker even when turning it on or off, even using headset., also with the messenger Other party can hear me.
so all this time the culprit is the Google Assistant.

Basically, it involves wiping the cache and files stored by the phone app. I think the problem started for me when I switched from a third-party phone app back to the built-in one. I've also seen similar reports of mic problems for other xiaomi models, so here's to hoping it'll be useful to somebody.
