Ever since I've updated to MIUI 12.5 (Android 11) on my Poco X3 NFC, I've had issues with my Mi Band 4 disconnecting sometimes even though Bluetooth is always on.

I believe it may be due to an autostart/doze issue, as I checked the autostart logs for Mi Fit, and there's usually a big gap starting from around 10:00-10:15pm each night to when I use my phone the next morning (even if I use my phone after that time, say 11pm or 12am, it usually won't autostart until the next day).

Never had this issue on MIUI 12/Android 10, the mi band never disconnected as long as Bluetooth stayed on.

I've attached some screenshots of the autostart logs.

I had similar problems with my Mi Band 3,Amazfit Bip and GTS,it lost connection a lot of times during day and during night it didn't record sleeping properly.Tried everything possible but finally switched to Huawei Watch GT and problems are gone.
I think it's a combo of issues between the Zepp/Amazfit/Mi software and latest Miui. Also with bt headphones i don't have any issues,no connection lost during a day of using them. And since i was tired of fighting with that issue,i decided to go the easy way and switched the watch

Funnily enough, I was gifted a Huawei GT today so no I have one as well! (GT 2 to be precise), and yeah you're right, haven't had connection issues all day so far. A bit of a shame as mi fit/zepp worked perfectly in Android 10 and below, but now there's just so many connection issues with 12.5.
