New MIUI 12: Permission contacts for WhatsApp

Hello,
I have problems setting permission for contacts on Mi9.
WhatsApp is only allowed to access contacts while using the app. So every time I open WhatsApp I have to update the contact list that I can see the contacts.
I want that WhatsApp is allowed to access contacts the whole time like before, but there isn't an option for it.

Delete all data. Then open it and you have to give the permission for once, not if WhatsApp is open.

4. I gave contact and other permissions manually.
5. After open whatsapp and configure normally.

What I did:

Go to Settings, Apps, Manage apps, look for and select Whatsapp, Permissions, change "Read your contacts" setting to "Always Allow"

On my miui 12 version it only works as mentioned since it has no "always Allow" function.

You don't need to uninstall the app. Just disable the contacts permission, go to WhatsApp and try to search some contact, then click "once".

Não precisa desinstalar o app. É só revogar a permissão de "contatos", voltar pro Whatsapp, tentar procurar algum contato e clicar em permitir uma vez.

It doesn't work yet, when it revokes it doesn't allow to change.
In Miui 12 for Mi 8 bug is strong.


Não dá certo, quando revoga ela não permite mudar mais.
No Miui 12 para Mi 8 bug está forte.

Try to revoke permission to contacts access in app setings and then open the app go to new chat and agree permission once.
