No 5G?

I'm using Redmi K30 Pro (lmi) and I'm using a Hong Kong sim card in Mainland China. The HK SIM has 10GB roaming allowance but it is still marked as "Roaming". (Reason for this is it avoids the Great Firewall and goes straight via HK)

On other custom ROM's and on MIUI China I can get 5G, using Xiaomi.EU I cannot get 5G even though I've set Sim Cards -> Sim -> Preferred Network Type to Prefer 5G

I know we have 5G here and I know it works on other roms so why doesn't it work here?

I'm back on the China latest (not beta though) and it's working, very strange - no-one knows why 5G won't work with latest xiaomi.eu?

Edit: I can see sporadic reporting of the same issue around the forum... so my device:
Redmi K30 Pro (lmi)

I'm in China, where it's confirmed working on China Latest although I am roaming with a HK SIM, it does work fine on other ROM's as well.

Since there is no way we can possibly reproduce the issue, we can't investigate the issue.

@Igor Eisberg There's a few reports in the bugs section I've added to: https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mi-11-5g-not-working-on-mi-eu-rom-chinese-model.60545/

If you need any help reproducing this issue you can let me know exactly what to run to diagnose/I can send logs/etc - I'm happy to help

I spent my day today trying China Stable and China Dev... both of these roms do support 5G and it switches on the moment it gives me the login screen on dev.

It's just xiaomi.eu that doesn't, confusingly, I can turn it on from the connection settings and it never connects

There's nothing I can give you to reproduce. I don't have a 5G plan myself so I can't verify if I get 5G on my Mi 10 (umi), which is about the same as lmi firmware-wise. All that can be done is playing with modem configurations, a lot of technical stuff that I have to do with the device and the same SIM in hand...

Alright I guess I'll start playing with the configs, are there any changes to the modem configs between China Dev and xiaomi.eu?

@Igor Eisberg All good, I think there is 5G but the icon is refusing to update. I found a few of these in the logs:

04-12 01:01:01.027 6595 9452 D MainServiceImplHandler: : EVENT_ON_5G_SIGNAL_STRENGTH_CHANGE_IND
04-12 01:01:01.027 6595 9452 D MainServiceImpl: onSignalStrength: Responding back for transaction = null
04-12 01:01:01.028 6595 9452 D MainServiceImpl: onSignalStrength: Responding back for transaction = null

And this:

04-12 01:00:55.935 6595 9452 D MainServiceImpl: delayNotifyNrIcon, updated icon is not 5G icon, no delay report

Also my speeds are 100mbps plus when I try a speedtest, if I switch to "Prefer LTE" it'll be about 4x slower on a speedtest even though the icon doesn't change at all between them.

I'll update the other thread as well

Not sure about this though?

Directly after boot, record a log for about 3 minutes with this command:
Code:
adb logcat -b radio > radio.txt
Send me in a private message.
