No Whatsapp Notifications Since Miui9 Upgrade

Can anyone please help? After an automatic upgrade to Miui Global 9.1.1.0 (NBGMIEI) last weekend, WhatsApp has stopped playing notifications when I get messages.

Everything was fine before this upgrade - has anyone any suggestions?

I am running WhatsApp 2.17.395 - without issue until last weekend

Try using system sound as your default notification sound.
