Invalid Notification number above some icons apps - BUG ? - POCO F3

I've been noticing that there is a bug (?) on the notification above some icons apps. For instance, if I receive 3 or 4 Messenger messages the notification number on the icon above the app remains 1. The same happens with Reddit and Telegram but doesn't happen with Whatsapp and Outlook. Does anyone knows why? Is this a bug? I have a POCO F3

I don't think the number is meant to be a number of messages, but the number of notifications.

Yes but why do the numbers on Whatsapp are equal to the number of messages that I receive while on messenger that doesn't happen? Or on Telegram or Reddit? And the same happens with SMS aswell
