OTA updates are enabled in the MIUI 9 branch. So you'll probably need to install MIUI 9 stable as soon as it's available to get OTA after that install

Global stable will be available by the end of this month/early december (revealed nov 2nd, they said it will be rolled out in batches). Then give the xiaomi.eu team a couple of days to port it.
