Poor stock camera quality

I feel (using 8.9.20 EU) stock camera has poor quality taking photos and faces seem to be faces made up in some cases. Beauty mode is off, HDR on/off and AI on/off. The result is the same. I'm testing *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* and it's a bit better although the colors seem more saturated. Any solution?

It is, indeed the image processing post is with the embellishment mode anyway. I've turned it off, but a wax face is still on.
