Problems with Rom Update

So, after many months of no updates through the Updater I decided to install the rom from here http://en.miui.com/download-317.html, but the phone says no.

TRWP says: Updater process ended with Error: 7
E3004: This package is for "lithium" devices; this is a "".

Why? It is the rom for this ohone, I went through all the steps in the flashing guide and still phone says no.

I could install MIUI 10 but I heard that the phone is heating up pretty badly and that it lags alot (and I'm not really a fan of Oreo).

1- install latest fastboot stable version via miflash
2- install twrp via adb fastboot
3- install global rom via twrp

Erm, you did read that TRWP says it doesn't work? Why should I install trwp when I already have it?

Official TWRP is abandoned and does not work, as is Red Wolf TWRP.

We all use the TWRP by raupe-blunden here:

I have Smarty 3.0.2-0 trwp...should I change it to the raupe one? If yes can I do it through trwp?

Probably, never heard of Smarty TWRP.

If you can't flash the new TWRP through the old one, then you have to fast boot flash it.
