Question about Redmi 4X android version

sorry, I didn't find subforum for Santoni...
I had a question about Redmi 4x : do you know if xiaomi has plan to upgrade android version from 7.1 to 8 or 9 ?
Or there's no way ?

I'm asking because on xda, some custom roms have pie versions and I even saw a custom gsi treble rom with android 10 Q.

So, I was thinking : why not an upgrade of android for miui rom ?
