Question about versions

Hey Guys

Quick question about MIUI Rom versions and the sequence of numbers issued to them

The current rom I have is MIUI-1.9.16 so I assume that the numbers go like this from old to new

1.9.8
1.9.9
1.9.10

etc till you get to 1.9.16

then at some point we may get to 1.10.* in which case the last set starts again at 1 (1.10.1) or something to that effect.

So the question is how come my rom updater is trying to download version 1.9.9 when I'm on 1.9.16 if it thinks 1.9.9 is newer ????

any thoughts?

from my dev experience this could be because the version number is a string instead of a integer ... so the update perhaps think 9 is higher than 16 because it's sorting the list alphabetically instead of numerically

The number 1.9.16 means that it has been relased in 9.september 16.day... like 1.9.9, in nine of september

So the question is how come my rom updater is trying to download version 1.9.9 when I'm on 1.9.16 if it thinks 1.9.9 is newer ????

I think that its only Updater bug..
