What happens if i re-lock bootloader?
Problem is cant use banking app- but need it.

Does updating still work - which actions will brick device or end up with problems ?

You can't update with locked bootloader. you can use magisk to use your banking app

using magisk doesnt force the app to work.
Other ppl also reporting this doesnt work anymore for fooling apps

Magisk Hide should work, just try it...

Did you try Magisk Safety Patcher? You can find it on XDA.

There are some apps which dig deeper than Gpay or so.
The only chance to use them is to be on a safe and certified platform.
I'm using a separate device for them.

Be aware, all this features which check your device are for your safety.
Some can be fooled - some not. The more you fool them....
