Redmi 6 Pro There was a problem communicating with Google servers

For 1 week now all google services give out this error message when I try to sing in. That includes Play store, Gmail, Google account and others. This error came up spontaneously, one day play store requested a log in and when I attempted it, the message came up. So what is the easiest solution my current version of the ROM is PDICNXM, MIUI 12.0.1. My guess is Xiaomi did something on their side and broke the connection with Google since the phone is chinese version.
