Redmi Note 10 Pro / Always-on display & Notification effect usability

Hi,

when I bought the phone (Redmi Note 10 Pro) I read that it does not have a notification LED, but that it does not matter since it has an AMOLED display (consuming less power) and it can show notifications on it. Well, I can't find out how to do that ;)

There are two options:
1) Enable "Always-on display": The display will constantly show at least the clock (no way to disable that). Looks nice, but there are problems with that:
- AMOLED is more burn-in prone than regular displays and showing the clock constantly will wear out that part of the screen
- useless drain of battery, I don't need the clock
2) Notification effect: None, Light-up screen, Animation. This works but it show the animation only once when the message is first received. It does not repeat as expected - the LED light on older devices was blinking until you read the message. If you missed the first notification, there is no way to know that there's a missed call/message without waking up the phone.

What would be very nice would be if there was a "Repeat Animation Interval" setting, that would turn on the display, show the animation, then turn off the display.
Is that possible? Can this be implemented as a special feature of xiaomi.eu?

Thanks in advance for your help and keep up the good work!

Hi,
The only solution is to enable the aod.
I was against but tried it again for few days.
The location of the clock changes everytime so i think the screen will not have problems.
I did not notice more battery draining.
I enabled the setting to disable aod when the phone is in the night and it works good.
Hope it helps

@ouais Since there is no better option at the moment, I'll give it a try... thanks. Hope there will be additional options in the future.

Kinda works... battery drain is very noticeable, though.
Would really not recommend this phone until this is fixed or a better option added.
It's like having a Ferrari but without a dashboard... I'm exaggerating a bit ;)

It is a feature I need most - there is no way to see if there are notification without having to poke on the phone.
It's so basic a feature that I'm left wondering if this was left out by mistake by the designers of the phone - or is it intentional: either marketing or something else... What's bugging me is that it could be solved by software, but no one seems to care.

So Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Notification Light is absent and there is no useful workaround.
