redmi note 7-camera 48mpx & Snapdragon 660

I bought my wife redmi note 7 because of a camera of 48mpx. I installed the *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* and the camera is much better. Wanting to get to know this phone better, I looked at the specification of the processor: https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-660-mobile-platform
I'm in shock ?! The processor does not support anymore 25mpx?
How does the 48-mpx camera work?

It's using Pixel-bining - it's combining 4 pixels into 1 and you get 12mp photos.

SDM660 does support 48MP photo processing, just not in ZSL (Zero Shutter Lag) or MFNR (Multi-Frame Noise Reduction) modes. Be more attentive when reading SoC specs
