Redmi note 9 pro (EU) proposes update to android 11. What should I do?

Hi to all,
my Redmi Note 9 pro has MIUI Global 12.0.4 stable 12.0.4.0(QJZEUXM) with Android 10 QKQ1.191215.002 ans Android security patches updated at 2021-03-01.
The device says that there is an update to 12.0.1.0.RJZEUXM with Android 11.
I know that often bugs are discovered just after software is released and I would like to avoid having my device bricked by a faukty update.
What should I do?
Should I wait some days?
What kind of backup should I do to be sure to not lose any data?
It is necessary to do a factory reset after the update?
If factory reset is needed, do I need to manually reinstall and configure every apps after the factory reset?
Any advice?

Hello,

It's an official update so you have low risk of bricking your device.

This update has been released since 2 weeks now, waiting some days is not necassary I guess.^^

But if you are using a custom launcher (Nova Launcher by example) with gestures navigation => You will not like this update because gestures navigation will only work in stock MIUI Launcher. Workaround is to use a third-party gestures app...

You can backup via Google Cloud and/or Mi Cloud.

No need to do a factory reset.
