Hey guys,

I enabled root access by flashing through twrp. What I needed root for failed, and I won't need root access anymore.

Root even appears to be broken, as various root checkers and supersu say root isn't enabled, however safety net checker still says I'm not allowed on several services because of my root.

Is there any way to remove root access without losing all my data and apps again?

The option used to be present in the security app, but it's been removed from there.

How did you enabled root? If twrp told you so, and you swiped, you did a mistake. The only way to get root access is to flash a zip by Chainfire (not anymore) or by phh.

I enabled root by installing a zip file through twrp, although I cant find anymore which file it was.

I'm not looking for an alternative though, im trying to remove root :p
Root is already unoperational, as I cannot grant my apps root access for some reason. However, safetynet checks still say that i cannot access their services as my phone is 'rooted' (although its not functioning). Im looking for a way to completely remove root without having to whipe all my data.

Understanding what could you have installed would be useful to find out how to remove it.

Found the file I think:
Beta-superSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip

Hope that clears it up a bit

Install SuperSu app, download newest SuperSu zip found on xda. Then, if SuperSu app detects your root, you Can select "full unroot"

Thanks. I followed your advice. I havent had any issues anymore, however the 'test apps' that are supposed to test wether you can use safety net or not still all show that I can NOT use it....although in reality I can. Strange.
