Replacing Mi message with Google Messages

Hi guys,
Most probably it's a silly question but coming from the global rom I was used to Google messages, I really liked the app due to RCS and ChromeOS integration, .EU rom comes with Mi Messages which I don't really like too much for a series of reasons.

Is there a way to disable/hide Mi Message and leave only Google Messages (Maybe via ADB?!)?

1) Maybe just set Google Messages as your default app.
2) If not, you will have to disable Mi messages using the ADB command.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.mms

3 Just disable Mi messages, don't try to uninstall it.

Bit late with the topic but is it possible to repalce Mi messages in ultra power saving mode? I personally prefer RCS working everywhere
