When the notification bar is pulled down it is gray instead of having the background blurred. Any idea what is causing it, any fixes or is it a new and frankly quite bad design idea?

when you see the changelog, it is the new style i think. we have to get used to see that screen. When the notification bar is pulled down it is gray instead of having the background blurred. Any idea what is causing it, any fixes or is it a new and frankly quite bad design idea?
I suspected something like this. Hopefully you guys will be able to fix it. Thank you for the information though. It's intentional change made by Xiaomi for "low-GPU" devices. Maybe will be fixed next week by us, for now it's uncertain.
Do you have it on Mi 9T, that is not a very "low-GPU" phone...when you see the changelog, it is the new style i think. we have to get used to see that screen.

Fair enough it is absolutely your right and decision.Nothing to fix, this was done by Xiaomi. You paid Xiaomi, deliver your complains directly to them. We already have over 100 patches to maintain, we don't look to add more.
Mi 10 doesn't have a low-end GPU...On my Mi 10 all ok, light and dark mode

Well not really, you can see on the list from @Igor Eisberg that one of the chipsets is the 662 which is brand new so to say and first time used in the Poco M3 which they released a few weeks ago, so it will be a new phone with missing features. I just have no idea what they are thinking...Seems like they are doing this to force move to new phones, since it was working fluid with blur. It's awful
Fixed in 20.12.2, tested on RN8. Thanks to @Igor Eisberg for going through the trouble. Really appreciate it.
