Root Redmi Note 14 4G Global

Hello,

Not sure this thread goes into this section, but cannot find the right one in the endless Xiaomi base models. Been looking for some info and it's not clear at all if I can Root this device precisely.

I don't need to change the room, just need Root access in order to extend my VPN setting over hotspot (tethering).

Any idea if this is possible? Specs and SO

Helio G99 6+2GB

The device it's global, not bought in china., got it in Europe.

Do I need a windows laptop or the root could be done via macOS?

This forum is for Xiaomi 14, not for Redmi Note 14, no support here.

...That said, I did unlock my "obsidian" (model 24116RACCG, 12G/512G) this week via Mi community app (set acc region to Global there to get an Unlock Bootloader menu entry at all!) after a couple of weeks trying to hit 00:00 Beijing time from a couple of Xiaomi phones bound to my account (starting frantic clicking around 17:59:58..59 EU time). By suggestion on one site, after a yet another "try tomorrow" message, I logged the phone out of Xiaomi account and back onto it, and it suddenly found it was in fact allowed to unlock further, after 72 hours starting from re-login. Windows Mi Unlock app was needed, and a 7.x version at that (their site only points to 6.x - that app suggests the specific newer version, but official website said it was not found, so got it from one of enthusiast sites).

Installed Magisk-patched boot.img and got `su` working, so rooting goes.

Google Wallet dislikes unblocked devices though, so no NFC payments for me I guess. Allegedly a xiomi.eu ROM could help, but there are none for obsidian yet (or I could not find).
