Samsung Gear S2/s3 On Miui?

I bought a Gear S3 and can't get it working on this ROM on my Mi4c. It works perfectly with CM14.1 and Resurrection Remix. I flashed the most recent MIUI ROM from here and the Samsung Gear app won't work. It says 'Download Failed' every time I try to launch and set up the app. Has anybody managed to get a Samsung Gear smartwatch working with these ROMs? Thanks

How did you set it up? Did you download the software from the Samsung website?

Yes, Samsung Gear and Gear S Plugin and Samsung Accessory Services from playstore

Just want to report back here that I got it working by switching away from the EU ROM and back to the official Global ROM. Now it's working fine.
