Screen turns dark when playing video

Hi,

I have this new Redmi 1S. When playing video. The screen turns dark and hardly see the video being played. Is this a hardware problem or application.

Video players have often it's own brightness settings, did you check it? Sometimes you just have to swipe up in left or right side of the screen.
Which app do you use for video? And also make sure it is really a video file, not a music file...
