Test New Screen Before Installation

Hi,
I got a replacement screen for my Mi5S

I wanted to try the screen before breaking the old one completely.
When connecting the main screen connector it lights up as intended.

However, there is no touch functionality whatsoever.

Should the touch functions not also work, just with the main connector?

Can't tell you for the Mi5S but AFAIK and with the phones I repaired, I had to connect all the cables for getting the touchscreen to work. Like on the iPhone I have to connect all three cables before I can use the touchscreen.
