I could not save my Mi 11 motherboard (deadboot), so I bought a replacement 128 GB one on Aliexpress and just replaced it.
The replacement motherboard seems to be European (RKBEUXM rom, Android Auto works), which is a pleasant surprise. Its bootloader is locked, though and I won't be able to unlock it before 7 days (I tried the tool that's supposed to unlock it instantly on Github, it didn't work).
I'm a bit rusty when it comes to flashing phones but I believe I should be able to flash an official ROM with Mi Assistant, shouldn't I? I tried MIUI 14 and a HyperOS 1 ROMs but, in both cases, it tells me I can update to a MIUI V12.5.9. What am I doing wrong?
Of course, I don't care if I have to wipe everything and start over. But I'd prefer not to wait 7 days...
EDIT The phone itself offered to update from 12 to 12.5. Then from 12.5 to 13.0.8. But now it tells me I'm up-do-date and won't download anything more recent. Mi Assistant says the same:
