Theme app is not working

Hi,

I don't know if it's a bug or what- but Theme app is not working in my newly installed ROM, it's MIUI 12.0.7 ROM based on A10 under Redmi K30 5G.

I can't download any theme, font etc. etc. from theme app. It's showing "Can't connect to Network" although my WiFi connection is pretty stable and fine. Check attached screenshot. Mobile data also returns same error

I'm kind of new to xiaomi.eu ROM, so any help would be appreciated.

Did you try clearing the data of themes app and try again?
Do you have a firewall app or something similar on your device?
What version of themes app are you using?
Are you rooted with magisk?

1) Yes, cache and data both cleared. but same error.
2) No firewall or VPN.
3) it's version 1.9.0.0
4) Not Rooted. No magisk.

What to do?

Without root, you have fewer options available.
Try updating the version of the themes app from apkmirror using google installer

Generally, this issue comes from AdAway (ad-blocker). Is it your case?

I have updated theme app with GetApps. It was version 1.8.7.1 after ROM install. I also tested manual update as you instructed. Same error.

After I uninstall app updates and revert back to original version which came with ROM, it's working fine. Why is this? So the problem is with latest version 1.9.0 of Theme app?

Generally, this issue comes from AdAway (ad-blocker). Is it your case?

I don't have root or any ad-blocker installed. My case was version issue/bug it seems. Check my reply above.

Important lesson learnt...please Don't update system apps. At least now you know why

Those get updated automatically after installing GetApps appstore and after I connect to WiFi. I had to manually ignore update for certain system apps one by one from GetApps. In my experience, following app creates problem after update:
1) Theme
2) Weather
3) Music
4) App vault
Rest are fine even after update.
GetApps System apps update isn't compatible with xiaomi.eu System Apps?
Note: I can only update those whenever update comes in Google Play Store.

A lot of those updates are not compatible and have not been tested with Xiaomi.eu ROMs
When a new rom version is released, the devs put the app versions that work best with Xiaomi.eu ROMs. Stick to those

Ok. Lesson learned. Rookie mistakes. New to xiaomi.eu ROM

No Update for System Apps.
