Transparent notification bar?

I really want a fully transparent notification bar, but when I apply a theme from the theme manager, it never changes the notification bar. How can I accomplish this?

Glowbusters 5.0 theme has a full transparent notification bar

See when I use the theme manager app in miui there are plenty of themes that have transparent notification bars, but when I apply them, it seems to just change the wallpapers and icons and such. but nothing like the notification bar. and the lock screens from all the screen caps from the theme manager look different? its very confusing -_- I have a desire z/g2, would that make a difference?
