New Unable to obtain IP on WIFI

When connecting to my WIFI, I am unable to obtain IP. Can connect after specifying a static one. Should that really be necessary?

Have you tried to reflash the phone or re-starting it and see if that helps?

Sometimes deleting all the saved WIFI networks and connecting again, fixes the problem

Thx for the replies, guys. I did both. Weird. But it's just the one network for now, so I'll just use static.

It's just sad, when Huawei Stock can do it flawlessly

Same problem on Razr XT910 running 2.9.7.
I tried deleting all networks, manual network entering, wipe cache partition. nothing worked.

Flash a new kernel, it's a common problem also check your radio you may have the wrong one and yes wifi binaries are region sensitive for broadcom chipset also download wifi manager and set your channel above 12 and 5ghz to your region

P. S. This problem even exist in notebooks
And windows users have bad time when it happens

As said by Spider623, it can be either Kernel (99%) or the Radio issue.
Please try other Kernel also check if you have correct Radio as per the android Version and your Region.

Thanks Ambuj and Spider, but there is no radio or kernel available for the RAZR!!

DEVS please help?? I full wiped yesterday, and today it still does not work. I am downloading MIUI 2.9.14 now. If that doe not work too I will switch back to stock...

Hi!
I have the same problem from time to time. Solution is:
1. Turn Off Wi-Fi.
2. Use Root Explorer.
3. Go to data/misc/dhcp.
4. Delete the only file on this directory.
5. Now you will connect to Wi-Fi.
