Hello Mi friends,

Just got my Mi5s today and want to unlock the bootloader, so i can install TWRP and the latest dev rom. But when i download the Unlock app and want to get it run it gives an error.
Libcurl.dll and libea32.dll are not on my pc, it says. I can see the files in the zip and i extracted all, but the app won't run.

What should i do?

I also read that there's a big chance that it will get stuck at 50%, just like unlocking Mi4s.

Then i first have to flash another rom. Which one?
Then i can unlock the bootloader (if the app works) and install TWRP + dev rom with fastboot.

Anybody have answers?

Thanks,
Alex

(my Mi4s is for sale, just got it 1 month and it is brandnew)

you can try this version of unlock ;
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4oUiKSTOb7oODNsUFNQMXBfNXc

and you need install china or eu developer rom installed for unlocking success .
Thanks Micro, i already succeeded unlocking on another pc, also with w10.
Now i need to flash another rom first before it's possible to install twrp with fastboot right? Or can i now install twrp already?
Which rom do you advise to download for flash?
I had these problems:
Cannot find flash_all files with flashing.
Cannot load twrp.img with fastboot

So i am stuck now.

Any ideas?

Thanks

first you look lock position on fastboot ;

fastboot oem device-info

you must see ;

Unlock-Command-for-Redmi-Note-3.jpg

if device " unlocked : true " you can install twrp and eu rom ;

twrp : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767101599

eu rom ; https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767113668

copy eu rom to phone memory and twrp.img to adb folder.

then go to fastboot ;

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

fastboot reboot (while " sound up " button pressing , until twrp show up )

and twrp will be open ...

install eu rom

finally wipe data , cache . (my coiche ; wipe data too )

and reboot

regards .

Thanks again Micro.

Just checked > yes, bootloader unlocked.
In fastboot my device is recognized.
But after fastboot flash recovery twrp.img > cannot load twrp.img

I see in TWRP.zip not a twrp.img but just twrp.
I renamed into twrp.img.

why is there no twrp.img file in twrp.zip?

Alex, you have to enable file extensions in windows. In that folder got the view (Beeld) tab and enable it.

Also you have to change the directory in cmd to the directory where you have the files because i can see you are on C:\ system32 by default. In your case you have to type: cd C:\adb and then enter the fastboot commands. Be careful with subfolders. Regards from Spain.

Hola,

I saw that file extensions was already enabled.
So i enabled hidden files as well and now i see twrp.img
I put twrp.zip in adb folder (in explorer) and worked from there.
But now i will not get further than adb devices.
I tried cd C:\adb, C:\adb > does not recognize this path.

Can you still help me out please?
What should i do exactly?

I never had this before with installing twrp. Is this because of windows?

Steps:
1. Create a folder in C: called Xiaomi
2.Unzip twrp.zip, rename the .img to twrp.img and copy it to the folder C:\Xiaomi ,also copy the fastboot files to that folder.
3. cd C:\Xiaomi (try with administrator rights)
4. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

2. just twrp.img to folder "Xiaomi"? What about adb? Just leave that folder? Where can i find the fastboot files?

downloaded twrp.zip again (removed everything and started all over again)
when i extract this zip there's only twrp.img in it. is that right?
what do you mean with fastboot files?

sorry to ask you again:

Yes copy the adb folder files in the Xiaomi folder.

Why don´t you apply the exact steps???

If i say cd C: Xiaomi do it. You have the files in that folder, not in C: Windows

I am sorry.
I put the adb also in the folder Xiaomi.
Open the folder Xiaomi and start windows cmd as administrator.
C:\Xiaomi still not recognized though

Dear jlmcr87, could you help me one more time please?

Can you write me the exact command for flashing twrp in fastboot please?
Knowing that i have a folder "Xiaomi" with adb and twrp.zip in it.

If i still not succeed i try to flash another rom with miflash, but do you know which rom i must download?

Thanks

No no no no no! Step 2: 2.Unzip twrp.zip, rename the .img to twrp.img and copy it to the folder C:\Xiaomi

Follow a youtube tutorial or something.

i did unzip the twrp.zip and there's a twrp.img file, so i do not have to rename it right?

But still not succeeded

Yes Yes!!

I downloaded the Chinese TWRP.zip Capricorn. Deleted the other one.
Copied the .img file and after that i renamed it into twrp.img.
Followed your cd C:\Xiaomi + fastboot flash recovery.img
and yes, it worked....finally.

Now set the Chinese language into English.

This Chinese TWRP is good right? Or do i have to install TWRP from Xiaomi.eu?

Well, there's a link for TWRP.zip and there's a link for TWRP.me
So i think both are alright, otherwise they were not there both.
TWRP.me leads you to the Chinese one.
So, now installing the latest dev rom 6.10.11 capricorn.
Will be back...

everything went just fine, no errors when flashing the rom with twrp, but....

3 times now installing on the phone and it's getting hot. Is that normal?
Or just shut it off?
