So I got my bootloader unlocked,enjoyed root on the China dev ROM but decided to give xiaome.eu a go! I used miflash to install, then did a factory wipe from TWRP. It's all looking fine except I can't see root. Anything I've missed? See pictures for detail

You must install SUPER SU 2.68 with TWRP to get full root.
Thanks! I managed to get that to work. My phone is looking good!

I'm a little confused though. I thought one of the main points of getting the weekly Dev rom is that it would be rootable without further flashing. If one still needs to flash in super su, it seems I might have simply been better off rooting stable instead.

Only the china dev roms have root permissions. Im pretty sure that the Xiaomi.eu roms are based on the global dev roms which don't have root.

please use this fastboot developer rom via mi flash bit ;

then you can see under permission root access ...
after that you can install root via xiaomi servers :)
i cant understand why choose xiaomi that way ?
yes more security for phone , bad for developers ;)
