Unocking BL error: couldn't get info unknown error (-1)

Hi everone!

I bought a MI8 pro when i was in china (previously I had bought once a MI5 there, so i am familiar with the unlocking processes).

My phone is on the latest China MIUI 10.2

For the unlocking, i registered a new mi account, as i will use a new SIM and number for it.

I want to unlock the bootloader, so i login to the unlock tool (3.3.1212.33) and get the following error: Account application area query failed
After some searching on the internet, i found someone saying that an older version of the unlock tool fixed it. So i downloaded version 3.3.525.23
Now i get the following error: couldn't get info unknown error (-1)

This is just after logging in to the tool, i can't even get to the unlocking process. It is so weird...does anyone know what this can be?
