Update apps automatically when I start charging my phone

I have Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and my apps do not automatically update when I start charging my phone.
I also have an older Mi 9T Pro and my apps start updating when I start charging my phone.
Both phones are connected to wifi and both phones have selected "Over Wi-Fi only" in the Auto-update apps setting in Google Play.
What is wrong with Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G?!

So I'm as far as I recall I believe the play store auto-update feature actually only checks your application list once per day. If it discovers a discrepancy it will then schedule that app to update later in the day but only while the device is on wifi, is charging, is idle and the app is not running in foreground.

In practice, it means that it can sometimes take a couple days before an update is applied to the system. If it's urgent to you then it's definitely advised to update manually as needed.
