Upgrade from MIUI 11 to MIUI 12?

At last the MIUI 12 stable is out for our Mi Note 3 device. Too bad MIUI 12 didn't get the android 10 update.

But I have some question, do you really have to wipe data to upgrade from MIUI 11 to MIUI 12? I'm to lazy to download all the apps again lol.
Will it cause problems if I didn't wipe?

what backup do you mean? backup for each app?

A complete backup. Apps and data.
You can do with xiaomi service or Google drive service, for example.

That only it works if you go ahead (as your situation)

Best tip for people like you is to stay stock rom...Looool
Don't take risk going with custom rom!

I just tried to update without wiping, I think it works pretty well. Maybe it is because the same android 9? I notice there's no floating window option in recent apps settings, is that feature only for MIUI 12 with android 10?
